Network Management (NM)

The Network Management (NM) program is a Bachelor of Science degree and is designed for students who have earned 60 or more transferable college hours. The required coursework is currently utilizing Windows 7 - 2008 R2 curriculum and Transcender preparation testing. Students prepare forMicrosoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) Server Admin, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Security + certification, as well as obtain a Bachelor of Science degree. All networking class professors are fully certified in their respective courses. Classes meet one to two nights a week for 17 months. This course examines adult learning theory and various learning styles. The course provides a model that is used to analyze life experience.

MODULE 2

Windows Networking I
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to do server administration in a Windows Server 2008 environment.

MODULE 3
MGT 3413
Organizational Behavior I; Diagnosis & Planned Change
This course analyzes the formal and informal functions and problems of organizations. The course also examines the strategies to plan, implement, and manage change in an organization.

MODULE 4
SNM 3813
Windows Networking II
This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to install, configure, manage, and support a network infrastructure in a Microsoft Windows-based network.

MODULE 5
SNM 3913
Routers and Switches I
This course focuses on network terminology and protocols, LANs, WANs, OSI models, cabling, routers, Ethernet, IP addressing, and network standards. The course also focuses on initial router configuration and Cisco IOS Software management.

MODULE 6

Biblical Perspectives in Western Culture
This course provides study of the Bible as a foundation to an understanding of Western culture and history. The course also explores the relevance of the Bible to modern day life.

MODULE 7

Routers and Switches II
This course focuses on advanced IP addressing, intermediate routing protocols, command-line interface configuration, Spanning Tree Protocols, and VLAN trunking. The course also focuses on WAN technology and terminology.

MODULE 8

Windows Networking III

This course provides students with important knowledge and skills necessary to plan and maintain the network infrastructure in a Windows environment. To accomplish this, such technologies as DHCP, OSPF, RIP, IGMP and IP routing schemes will be discussed.

MODULE 9

Intorduction to Network Security
This course provides a survey and application of the basic network security principles which includes preperation for the Security+ certification exam.

MODULE 10

Windows Networking IV
This course provides the students with the knowledge and skills necessary to install, configure, and administer Active DirectoryTM directory services. This course concludes with an extended study of Identity and Access solutions in Active Directory TM.

MODULE 11

Personal & Professional Ethics and Values
This capstone course examines various theories of man and their relevance to personal and social values. The course provides the basis to formulate or clarify a philosophy of life that is consistent with the demands of a responsible lifestyle in the contemporary world.

MODULE 12

Windows Networking V
Global planning for the final setup of Server 2008 and the design of the security aspects of the servers is the final topic.
