Giving FAQ's

Why should I give to SNU?

The reasons for making a gift are personal to each donor, and SNU offers a vast array of funding opportunities to meet the personal goals of our donors. Perhaps working with students through the years makes you want to help support scholarships through The SNU Fund. Perhaps you would like to contribute directly to an academic department, or sports teams that you feel are important to support.

How much should I donate?

Every gift, no matter the amount, is important to the future of this campus. Your participation in the campaign and belief in the people and programs at SNU is what this campaign is all about.

Can I specify how my contribution is used?

Yes, as the donor you specify how the gift will be used. Your donation can help ensure a successful future for SNU. Donors may select from a variety of funds that support people and programs across the entire campus.

Some funding opportunities that appeal to many members of our faculty and staff include the SNU Fund, which provides scholarship funding that impacts all students, or The Angel Scholarship Fund which is used specifically to keep students in school who are facing extraordinary financial situations.

What are my payment options?

There are many ways to make your gift to SNU. You may donate by cash, check, credit card or automatic payroll deduction. If you choose to utilize payroll deduction, you can set up your monthly deduction for a specified or indefinite amount of time. If you'd like to spread payments over several years, or if you're considering a gift of stock or a planned gift, please call us at (405) 491-6617 or email us at snugiving@snu.edu

Where do I send my gift?

You can make your gift on our secure, online giving site at https://webapps.snu.edu/secure/donations/. If you'd like to use payroll deduction or would like to contribute by check, email us at snugiving@snu.edu and we will provide you a payroll contribution form and a postage paid envelope in which to return your contribution.

What if my spouse works for a company with a matching gifts program? Your gift may double or even triple if your spouse’s company has a matching gifts program. Please ask your spouse to check with his or her human resources department for program specifics and paperwork. You can also visit our Employer Matching Gifts Program page to search for a list of employers with gift matching programs.

Is my gift tax deductible?

Your gift qualifies for tax-deduction in accordance with IRS regulations during the calendar year that you make your gift. You will receive a gift receipt for your files. Consult your tax professional for more information.
