The Office of University Advancement and Church Relations

The Office of University Advancement and Church Relations is comprised of the following departments:

Alumni – The Office of Alumni Affairs maintains communication and connection with SNU for former students and graduates. The Alumni staff facilitates SNU alumni events such as Homecoming, Class Reunions, and Regional Gatherings, as well as alumni communication online, through social media and in print publications.

Development – Acting as the fund-raising arm of the university, SNU’s development staff members oversee a variety of programs and initiatives including, but not limited to, Endowment Development and Planned Giving; The SNU Fund; Advancement events such as tournaments, the annual Excel Auction, the Hall of Witnesses program, and corporate matching gifts. Corporate and foundation relations, as well as donor records and receipting fall under the purview of the Advancement offices as well.

Church Relations – Maintains communication and reinforces the covenant relationship between the university and the South Central Region Church of the Nazarene. The Office of Church Relations has responsibility for receipting and reporting of general education giving by constituent churches, and provides training and enrichment opportunities for pastors and church leaders, both on and off campus.

Media Strategies Team – The staff of MST is a team of professional storytellers whose collaborative mission and purpose is to establish a clear vision for the SNU image and reputation among key constituents, to establish a memorable visual and audible signature for the university, and to communicate the value of an SNU education.

Zig Ziglar Center for Ethical Leadership at Southern Nazarene University - The Zig Ziglar Center for Ethical Leadership is an academic center of excellence for the study and practice of ethical leadership. The center offers educational programs and seminars for students, professionals, the business community and “not-for-profit” organizations.

Peer Learning Network - The Peer Learning Network (PLN), established by Southern Nazarene University is 1995 and facilitated by the Zig Ziglar Center for Ethical Leadership, brings together the CEO and leadership teams of Oklahoma-based companies who have committed to be Major Partners in the Peer Learning Network. Partners utilize PLN for the purpose of professional development--members pool resources and thereby hear world-class presenters, share management, leadership and planning ideas and network with a wide array of successful Oklahoma company representatives.

Commission Unto Mexico – Since 1989, SNU has sponsored this annual missions trip to the country of Mexico, ministering in various locations to meet the spiritual, physical and material needs of the people. Traditionally scheduled to take place over the New Year’s holiday, SNU students, faculty, staff and missions-minded Christians around the country join together in the cross-cultural experience.
