Homecoming 2012 Needs YOU!

The Office of Alumni would like to offer you some exciting opportunities to volunteer and help us welcome fellow alumni back to campus for Homecoming 2012! Homecoming weekend is packed with activities for all ages. We have several great options to choose from, depending on your talents and areas of interest.

You’ll see that we need LOTS of volunteers, so check the list and check your calendars. We know it's a long list...that's why we need your help! Scroll through the options below, and then fill out the form at the bottom of the page to submit your information

Thursday , November 8

Yellow Ribbon Crew: This year, we honor Alumni Veterans, Active Duty, Military Reserves and Families. Help us hang more than 300 yellow "Welcome Home" Ribbons across campus as a very special touch for these Alumni who have served our country.

Friday, November 9

Decorating Crew: Want to help SNU make a great first impression? This committee will be in charge of making the campus look great! We will construct balloon columns and arrangements, place flowerpots and, for those who may be a little “decorating challenged,” take them down afterwards. Grab some coffee and a few creative friends, and have some fun!
10:00 AM - Noon (Balloon Pillar Crew - 6) - FULL
3:00 – 5:00 PM (Sawyer Set up Crew - 8) - FULL
10:00 – 11:00 PM (Sawyer Tear down/clean up - 8)
Volunteers Needed = 22

Registration: Be the first friendly face visitors see as they return to campus. Registration volunteers will greet and check in alumni, distribute nametags, sell tickets, answer questions, and just be generally helpful!

11:30-2PM (5) - FULL
1:30-4PM (5) - FULL
5:00 – 7PM (3) - FULL
6:30-8:30PM (2) - FULL
Volunteers Needed = 18

Runner/Gopher: Sometimes we just need people to run and do stuff! Volunteers will run errands, and assist office staff and guests with any issues that arise.
8:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Sign up for 2-hour time slots - FULL

Saturday, November 10

Registration: Be the first friendly face visitors see as they return to campus. Registration volunteers will greet and check in alumni, distribute nametags, sell tickets, answer questions, and just be generally helpful!

10:30AM-1:00PM (3) - FULL

Decorating Crew: This committee will help decorate tables according to centerpiece examples for the All Alumni Dinner in the Sawyer Center
9:00AM - Noon (10) - FULL
Noon-3PM (10) - FULL
Total Volunteers Needed = 20

Balloon Crew: Fill balloons and place around campus.
7:00 – 9:00 AM (6)
Total Volunteers Needed = 6

Reunion Lunch Delivery: Volunteers will pick up pre-packed, BBQ boxed lunches from Sodexo and deliver to class reunion lunch locations all over campus.
10:30-11 AM (3) - FULL

Volunteers Needed = 9 

Runner/Gopher: Volunteers will run errands, and assist office staff and guests with any issues that arise.
8:00AM – 2:00 PM; Sign up for 2-hour time slots - FULL
Volunteers Needed = 6

Arts Festival: Volunteers will take payment for items purchased at the merchant processing table. They will handle cash and process credit cards. We will teach you how to do this. If that scares you, we can use you at the artists’ booths to relieve them while they take 15-minute breaks.

Noon – 4:00 PM (3) - FULL
3:30PM-6PM (3) (this shift includes tear down, 5-6PM)

Clean Up Crew: Nobody notices what these people do unless it goes undone! Help us tear down & clean up after the All Alumni Dinner in the Sawyer Center
