BETHANY, OK - A delegation of eight Korea Nazarene University (KNU) professors, staff and students will arrive in the city as Southern Nazarene University (SNU) guests to the campus from Wednesday, October 1 through Tuesday, October 7.
The two Professors from the Korea delegation are Bong Hee Lee and Kyung Nam Park. The one staff member with the group is Hye Ryung Kim. The five student guests include Sung Min Park (male, rehabilitation major), GiHoon Kim (male, special education major), Eun A Jung (female, human rehabilitation major), Hyang Hee Shin (female, Early Child Special Education major), and Sun Won Kim (female, information and Communication major).
As part of the Nazarene Centennial Celebration, Korea Nazarene University selected several student leaders, faculty and staff to be a part of several different delegations that will visit various Nazarene Universities from all over the United States. Korea Nazarene has covered the cost of the trip and each of the Nazarene Universities will cover the hosting, housing, meals and activities of the guests. The goal of the visit is to have the students learn more about the sister universities, The Nazarene Church and the cities they visit.
Lisa Carr, Director of International Students at Southern Nazarene University and Dayna Ford, Director of the Center for Intensive English at Southern Nazarene University are the hosts for this particular delegation. Together, Carr and Ford have planned the groups’ experience while they are here and will be the delegation guides for the week.
“I consider it an honor to be a part of hosting this delegation of KNU faculty, staff and students,” said Carr. “As we celebrate the 100 year Centennial of the Church of the Nazarene, I’m proud to share our university, church and city with our sister school.”
Dr. Loren Gresham, President of Southern Nazarene University will take the delegation to church with him and Mrs. Gresham on Sunday morning and then provide lunch for the group.
Sunday afternoon the delegation will be participate in a “Day of Celebration” with the Oklahoma City First Church of the Nazarene, OKC Korea Nazarene and OKC Primera Church of the Nazarene. The service will include translations in three different languages.
