New Student Institute 2008 and SNU Fall Semester to begin

BETHANY, OK -The 2008-2009 academic school year will soon be underway at Southern Nazarene University (SNU), beginning with New Student Institute (NSI) Orientation for new students Saturday, August 23 through Tuesday, August 26.   Undergraduate classes for the Fall 2008 semester are set to begin Wednesday, August 27.

NSI is a required orientation program to welcome incoming students to SNU.  The program consists of a four day intense orientation followed by four weeks of meeting with family groups.   Faculty and student mentors join together along with 10 – 15 new students to make up the family group.  The goal of NSI is to ease the transition of college life on campus.

“You will be amazed how these relationships and the knowledge they offer will ease the students transition to this place,” said Misty Jaggers, Director, New Student Institute.

Scheduled activities during NSI will include: A service project day - a special focus of orientation set during NSI that allows the students to see that he or she is apart of who we are at SNU and in the community, Seminars, Campus Orientation and Tour, Academic Advising, Chapel Service, Southern Supper and of course fun and games.
