Southern Nazarene University (SNU) faculty and staff welcome the return of the SNU students for the Fall 2011 semester.
New Student Institute (NSI) begins today and is a required orientation program to welcome incoming students and their parents. NSI consists of a four-day orientation followed by follow up meetings with family groups. NSI aims to help students feel more comfortable in the college setting and learn information that is vital to success at Southern Nazarene University.
“You will be amazed how these relationships and the knowledge they offer will ease the students transition to this place,” said Misty Jaggers, Director, New Student Institute.
Each new student is placed in a family group with a faculty and student mentor. Students will stay in these family groups throughout orientation and continue to meet during the fall semester.
“I am so excited to help these new students feel like this is a place they are welcome. NSI really allows you to meet new people and find your niche on campus,” said SNU sophomore Lauree Stewart.
Official registration for all returning students begins August 22, 2011 at 5:00, with classes beginning on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. Registration takes place in the Webster Commons Heritage Room, Tuesday, August 23, and Wednesday, August 24, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Southern Nazarene University's mission is to transform lives through higher education in Christ-centered community.
