Responsibility: The primary function of this position is to assist the Head Coach in planning practice and game strategies, on the court coaching, coordinating travel, assisting in monitoring academics and other responsibilities as directed by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics. GROUNDSKEEPER

Department: Facilities Management

Availability: Immediate Opening – Full Time

Purpose: Maintain the landscaping and grounds of Southern Nazarene University properties, including the main campus and athletic fields, in excellent condition. Create a safe and inviting outdoor space for all campus users, to be a suitable environment for learning and living.

Scope: Under the supervision of the grounds supervisor, crew leader and/or officials responsible for the coordination and accomplishment of plant maintenance and operation work, perform the duties peculiar to, and normally required in, the trade of groundskeeper, following recognized procedures, practices and techniques for such work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Including, but not limited to...

  • Mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, watering, weeding, seeding, fertilizing, and maintaining lawns and athletic fields.
  • Pruning and transplanting shrubs and trees.
  • Flower bed maintenance, including weeding, pruning, mulching, and planting seasonal annuals.

Education and Skills Required:
High school, technical or trade school graduate or equivalent preferred. Good oral and written communications skills a must. Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus. Previous experience in field of Grounds maintenance, Horticulture, Agriculture, Landscaping, Irrigation or Athletic turf management preferred. 

Physical Requirements:
· Work is medium; drives, pushes, pulls, lifts or carries a variety of grounds maintenance equipment.
· Must be able to individually lift a minimum of 50 lbs and be able to, with assistance, move and transport heavier materials and equipment.
· Must be able to climb ladders, work from lifts, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch to gain access to work
· Required to work outside in all weather conditions.
· Must be able to work in confined spaces and from heights.

DIRECTOR OF PROFESSIONAL & GRADUATE STUDIES MARKETING

Primary Purpose:
To support Professional & Graduate Studies (PGS) through the development, maintenance, and oversight of all functions related to marketing Professional & Graduate Studies (PGS) programs

Availability: Immediate Opening – Full Time

Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing
Attract and enroll new students for in PGS programs through the design, development and placement of advertising and other marketing activities, including a major emphasis on online marketing:

  • Coordinate all phases of advertising and marketing of PGS programs including design and placement of ads.
  • Coordinate all phases of lead-to-applicant-to-enrollment process for PGS programs.
  • Prepare and maintain reports, forms, timelines, and other enrollment tracking projects, as needed.
  • Support PGS programs through development and implementation of effective, creative marketing campaigns. 
  • Oversee and manage budget for marketing and advertising. Develop and implement strategic marketing plan for PGS. 
  • Work with radio reps and voice talent to develop and produce radio spots. 
  • Oversee development and placement of print ads. 
  • Coordinate WEB page development and ensure it is up-to-date. 
  • Develop and manage online presence for all PGS including, but not limited to, creation of Google strategies and use of social media. 
  • Develop and establish relationships across PGS programs to develop and maintain “brand” continuity.

Enrollment
Responsible for coordination of enrollment process from initial contact to enrollment. Responsibilities require position to:

  • Generate on-line and paper applications. 
  • Ensure reception of official transcripts. 
  • Coordinate oversight of applicant’s progress through Financial Aid. 
  • Manage communication with applicant throughout application process. 
  • Coordinate enrollment operations for PGS. 
  • Oversee operations and use of “Recruiter” portion of Ellucian system. 
  • Perform other tasks and activities as assigned by Dean of College of PGS

General
Oversee and coordinate events and activities related to the attraction and enrollment of new PGS students:

  • Attend and represent SNU at various Chamber events. (NW, OKC, MWC) 
  • Ensure attendance at Higher Ed Alliance monthly meetings. · Coordinate all activities at Tinker Air Force Base including, but not limited to Tinker Education Guide.
  • Coordinate all activities specifically related to OCCC Transfer Day and OCCC Job Fair and any like events on or away from campus.
  • Act as point person and responder for invitations to represent SNU at Education Fairs, college transfer days, trade shows, etc.
  • Maintain relationships with 2-year feeder colleges. (Rose State, Oklahoma City Community College, Redlands, and OSU-OKC)
  • Monitor and guarantee an adequate number of promotional supplies are always on hand.
  • Participate on SNU committees that oversee enrollment, marketing, and publishing.

ASSOCIATE UNIVERSITY PASTOR OF WORSHIP & CHAPEL

Position: Full time (12 month) staff position. Start date: July/August 2013.

Reporting: The Associate University Pastor of Worship and Chapel will work with and report directly to the Lead University Pastor/Dean of the Chapel.

Scope: This position focuses primarily on spiritual care for students through incarnational/relational ministry. This position works directly with the Lead University Pastor to develop holistic Christian ministries with the campus community. Programming responsibilities could include leading musical worship in chapel, organizing worship teams and working with Lead Pastor to plan chapel experiences on campus.

A successful candidate will:

Be ordained as an elder or deacon – or be pursuing/be willing to pursue such ordination – in the Church of the Nazarene. Have been involved in ministry in the local church setting. Have achieved an undergraduate degree and be working towards or willing to work towards graduate degrees in worship, theology, or ministry.

General Pastoral Responsibilities:

Be present and available to students building strong and authentic Pastor/Student relationships with them. Spend time in prayer for students and bring specific requests to staff. Be available to give solid Christian advice and spiritual direction consistent with SNU’s philosophy and theology. Meet personally with no less than 15 or 20 students per week, which includes attending SNU events and sharing no less than 5 meals per week on campus with students. Write notes and cards of encouragement to students on a weekly basis. Be aware of student issues and work closely with student development to address these issues when possible. Have an open door policy in your office for any and all students, faculty, and staff. Work with Lead University Pastor to develop holistic Christian ministries for the campus community.

Specific Responsibilities: 

Lead worship and organize bands for chapel experiences. We would prefer this applicant be able to sing and lead worship as well as serve in pastoral role for students. Attend and organize weekly sound checks. Identify students who have interest in singing and playing in chapel and organize them, teach, and disciple them. Hire, work with and schedule our student chapel technology crew making sure they are adequately trained and equipped and that chapel runs smoothly and professionally. Work with the Lead University Pastor to set chapel themes. This includes working to visually portray the theme on stage. Help set the chapel speaker schedule by communicating with speakers once Lead Pastor has contacted them. This includes making sure speakers are paid and their needs for chapel are met. It also includes working with speaker or assistant to arrange transportation, housing, and meals for speakers. Work as “Producer” for Chapel. This not only includes being present and often leading in chapel but also working with student workers and interns. Work with SGA to schedule and organize class chapels and special chapel events. Work with Campus Ministries to strengthen Student Led Chapel. Help launch any new services on campus. Be willing and ready to speak in chapel several times throughout the year. Work with Lead Pastor to make improvements in Herrick to upgrade chapel experience.  CCLI Reporting (Track all music that is performed in chapel, Report all of that music on the CCLI website, Communicate with Remedy to see if they performed any music that needs to be reported.)

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the needs of veteran affairs (VA) students and provides information regarding their education benefits to the Department of Veterans Affairs. This position reports to the Professional and Graduate Studies Assistant Director of Financial Aid.

· Process VA files to ensure exemplary customer service as well as compliance with State and Federal regulations

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR BUSINESS OFFICE

The Assistant Director shall oversee the overall business operations of the Professional and Graduate Studies Business Office, ensuring that student accounts are current & up to date. Assist in the management of the daily workflow of the PGS Business Office personnel, including Tulsa. Work closely with the PGS Financial Aid Office to generate registration agreements and payment plans. This position performs a variety of tasks and reports to the SNU comptroller.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

I. Daily:
a. Student accounts monitored to ensure accuracy

  • Process registration forms

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FINANCIAL AID

Primary Purpose: The Assistant Director Financial Aid provides supervisory leadership for the operation of the Professional and Graduate (PGS) Office of Financial Aid and Veterans Administration Coordinator. This position also counsels and processes students’ financial aid and reports to the Director Financial Aid.

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for distribution of information regarding financial aid to students, faculty and staff in the Professional and Graduate Studies area.

· Supervises Veterans Administration Coordinator and PGS Financial Aid Counselors.

Essential Job Functions:

· Provides financial aid counseling, awarding and processing student financial aid in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Supervises Professional and Graduate financial aid personnel and Veterans Administration Coordinator. · Utilizes Professional Judgment as related to students’ specific need.
· Monitors verification of student files according to the Department of Education Regulations.
· Tracks official and unofficial withdrawals as related to Title IV eligibility. Completes Federal Return to Title IV Funds calculations and returns money to appropriate entities per the calculation.

Position ensures the prompt and accurate processing of student account payments, departmental deposits, and various cash disbursements.
