The Purpose

The Student Service Program seeks to equip undergraduate students for responsible Christian living so that they will become active, effective leaders in diverse service settings throughout their lives. The Student Service Program (SSP) focuses on faith integration in “everyday” life so that students might bring the Kingdom of God into the world.

SSP students who voluntarily participate in SSP are typically placed within an organization that services underrepresented populations, such as ethnic minorities, racial minorities, and the poor.

The Rundown

Students may earn up to half of a semester’s chapel credits (13 of 27 credits) by volunteering for about 6 hours per month. The SSP Director will help students find an organization in which they are interested, and where their passions and skills can be utilized.

As part of SSP, students will complete…
· A training session
· Short, online reflections
· One small group reflection
· A one-page reflection at the end of the semester
