2003-2004 Freshman Achievement awardees
Southern Nazarene University President Dr. Loren Gresham recently presented five SNU students with the Freshman Achievement Award during a special chapel service on November 30, 2004.
The awards presentation marked the 39th annual installment in an SNU tradition that began in 1965. For the past 39 years, the Freshman Achievement Award has been presented each fall semester to representatives from the current sophomore class for their contributions during their first year at SNU.
To qualify for nomination, a student must achieve a minimum grade point average of 3.5 during their freshman year. Service and leadership contributions in ministry, community and extracurricular activities are other aspects considered for election. In the current sophomore class, 41 students received nomination from faculty and administrators for this award.
From this group, five students were selected by vote of the faculty and administration as recipients of this year’s awards. The recipients of the Freshman Achievement Award for the 2003-2004 academic year are:
