Area students join Symphonic Band in 2 upcoming concerts

The SNU School of Music proudly presents two upcoming concerts featuring the talents of the Symphonic Band and students from area schools.

The annual Festival of Bands will take place Tuesday, February 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Herrick Auditorium, NW 39th Expressway and Asbury. The concert showcases the SNU Symphonic Band and bands from area high schools and middle schools in a festival concert, with all of the school bands joining the SNU Symphonic Band on their contest music. Participating schools are Western Oaks Middle School, Mayfield Middle School, Putnam City West High School, Bethany High School, and Classen School for the Arts and Sciences. The concert is free and open to the public.

The SNU Kid’s Concert will take place Friday, February 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Herrick Auditorium, NW 39th Expressway and Asbury. The concert features the SNU Symphonic Band under the direction of Dr. Phil Moore, with special guest choirs from the Children’s Department at Bethany First Nazarene Church. The concert is a fun, lively and educational program geared toward elementary age children. Admission is $3.00 for adults; $1.00 for students.
