Athletic Training Students Intern with Professional Teams
Six students from Southern Nazarene University’s Athletic Training Education Program have secured internships with professional athletic organizations throughout the Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Boston areas.
Senior Jared Hofer is working this summer with the Oklahoma Cite Yard Dawgs in the Arena II Football League. Jared will be working with the Yard Dawgs for the team’s entire season under the supervision of Head Athletic Trainer, Lane Parks. Jared’s experience this year also includes working the McDonald’s High School Basketball All-Stars tournament in April 2004.
Senior Joshua Byler is living a dream as upon selection into the Texas Rangers Baseball Organizatio. Joshua will begin his internship with the major league team this June in Arlington, Texas.
Senior Eric Monroe will be interning with Oklahoma University’s Football Program, working with the Sooners in August during their preseason workouts and assisting OU’s athletic training staff throughout the football camp.
Juniors Holly Burson and Michael Brobston will be interning in private physical therapy clinics in the Oklahoma City and Tulsa areas.
Graduating senior Amber Graham was the first student from SNU to be selected to work the Boston Marathon. On April 19, Amber spent the race day transporting ill and injury runners from the finish line area to the medical tents.
The SNU Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management congratulates these six Athletic Training students for selection into these prestigious athletic organizations.
