Brass Choir/Percussion Ensemble to perform Nov. 11

The SNU School of Music presents a free concert featuring the Brass Choir and Percussion Ensemble Tuesday, November 11, 7:30 p.m., in Cantrell Music Hall, located just north of 39th and College on the campus of Southern Nazarene University.

Under the direction of School of Music Chair Dr. Phil Moore, the 17-member Brass Choir will open the concert with “Appaplachian Mountain Folk Suite,” “Three Spirituals,” and selections from H.M.S. Pinafore. The second half of the program will feature the select six-member Percussion Ensemble, led by K. Dean Walker, as they present a variety of selections including “Preludio for Percussion” by Del Borgo, “Triplets,” featuring soloist Brian Kiespert, and an African welcome piece.

“One of the most varied and interesting programs of the semester, highlighting the brass and percussion instrument families,” said Moore. “An audience of all ages will enjoy this performance.”
