Chad Burrow, clarinetist and Amy I-Lin Cheng, pianist to perform at SNU's Cantrell Music Hall
The School of Music at Southern Nazarene University (SNU) presents Guest Artist Series: Chad Burrow, Clarinetist, along with Amy I-Lin Cheng, Pianist on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at SNU’s Cantrell Music Hall, 7:30 p.m. located at 6729 Northwest 39th Expressway in Bethany, Oklahoma.
Burrow is the assistant professor of clarinet at Oklahoma City University. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University and a Master of Music degree from
Yale University. He has taught at the Bass School of Music since 2001.
Amy I-Lin Cheng is the head of the piano program at the Wanda L. Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University. She is also Vice President of the Chopin Society of Mid-America and is active in the Music Teachers National Association of the Oklahoma Music Teachers Association.
The two met at Yale University and have lived in Oklahoma City for the past five and a half years. Cheng and Burrow comprise Duo Clarion and are founding members as well as co-directors for the Brightmusic Chamber Music Series at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Oklahoma City.
The couple has performed on the East and West Coasts, in Asia and Europe. Recent concerts of the couple include appearances on Brightmusic Chamber Music Series in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, The Chopin Society of Mid America Concert Series, The Civic Music Association of OKC concert Series, and the Stonington Opera House Summer Concert Series. A CD recording was released of the pair in 2005, “Where the Sunsets Bleed: Chamber Music of Edward Knight” with Albany Records.
