Chonda Pierce to appear at Homecoming 2004

Southern Nazarene University presents the 2004 Homecoming Showcase Concert featuring best-selling Christian comedienne Chonda Pierce and the SNU School of Music on Saturday evening, November 13, 7:30 p.m. at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene (6789 NW 39th Expressway). This year’s Showcase also includes special recognition of SNU alumni from the Division of Science and Mathematics and the School of Nursing.

With an audience of 1.5 million nationwide, Chonda is known for her sidesplitting stories about real life, from babyhood to motherhood to grannyhood. Chonda has appeared on major television and entertained at the Grand Ole Opry. In addition to working with Billy Graham, Chonda has written eight books (including four children’s books) and has four gold-certified comedy videos.

Chonda will share in her own, unique way some of the funniest real-life stories from campus life, including some of her most memorable events at SNU. Along with the laughter, Chonda will share Have I Got a Story for You – the truth of her ongoing love story with Jesus.

The Showcase concert is just one of many events taking place during the 2004 SNU Homecoming Weekend, November 12-14. This year’s Homecoming weekend features a variety of activities for SNU alumni, current students, faculty and staff alike, including a celebration of God and the Sciences at SNU; reunions for 14 classes; luncheons; Coronation Chapel; football and basketball games; and the 4th annual President’s Prayer Breakfast.
