Choral Ensembles to present Fall Concert
The SNU School of Music presents the SNU Chorale and Men’s and Women’s Choruses in concert, Thursday, November 13, 7:30 p.m. in Cantrell Music Hall, located just north of 39th and College on the campus of Southern Nazarene University. Admission is free.
The concert will feature a variety of sacred music from three of SNU’s choral ensembles.
The Men’s Chorus will open the performance with sacred pieces including hymn arrangements “Love Divine-O Love That Will Not Let Me Go,” by James Cram and “Jesus Paid It All” by Robert Sterling as well as “Joshua! (Fit the Battle of Jericho)” by Kirby Shaw. The Women’s Chorus will then follow singing a number of sacred selections.
The SNU Chorale will then take the stage, featuring a number of acappella selections including “Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal” by Alice Parker, “My Song in the Night” by Paul Christiansen, “Give Me Jesus” by L.L. Fleming, and “My Soul’s Been Anchored in the Lord” by Moses Hogan. Featured student soloists are Sarah Siems (Stillwater, OK) and Christyn Lauffer (Bethany, OK).
The SNU Chorale and Men’s Chorus are conducted by Dr. D. Brent Ballweg. The Women’s Chorus is under the direction of Professor Philip Miller. Accompanists include Prof. Tim Marek, Heather Smith and Ryan Blaske.
