Choral Society seeks community participants
The SNU Choral Society is currently recruiting singers for its Fall 2003 season. Rehearsals begin Monday evening, September 1, 7:00-9:30 p.m.
The 100+ voice choir is made up of SNU choral students as well as other students and members of the university or community with prior choral experience. The group performs major and minor choral works with orchestral accompaniment.
Recent performances by the Choral Society have included Bach’s Cantata No. 4 and the Requiem’s by Maurice Durufle and W.A. Mozart. This fall, the Choral Society will present the timeless Messiah by George Frideric Handel.
Rehearsals will be on Monday nights, 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., in the Fine Arts Building on the campus of SNU, 6729 NW 39th Expressway, will the final performance on Sunday, December 7.
“We would love to have more members of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area participate in the SNU Choral Society!” said Dr. Brent Ballweg, Choral Society conductor. “The synergy created from the combination of university and community singers makes the experience extremely exciting and fun!”
