Community Work Day
SNU students lending helping hand to local community
The Community Relations Council of Southern Nazarene University will host a Community Work Day Saturday, March 27, 10 a.m. – noon. Participants are asked to meet that morning at the north pavilion of Rogers Park at 9:45 a.m. to receive project assignments. At noon, all groups will assemble back at Rogers Park for a noon cookout, followed by the First Annual Disc Golf Tournament for SNU students at 2:00 p.m.
“The purpose of Community Work Day is to give back to the community in which we live while allowing our neighbors to interact with SNU,” said SNU student Sarah Shenold, Vice President for the Community Relations Council. “This year we have invited area youth groups to join us, including Edmond First, Waterloo, and Oklahoma City First Church of the Nazarene.”
This year’s work projects include sorting and cleaning at Reaching Out City (R.O.C.), picking up trash at Will Rogers Park, and assisting at an undisclosed location.
All SNU students are invited to participate. Sign-ups for the Community Work Day and Disc Golf Tournament begin in the Commons on Tuesday, March 23 after Spring Break and will last through Friday, March 26. For more information, contact Sarah Shenold at 405.491.8149.
