‘Covenant Celebration’ to convene in Little Rock, AR
Choirs and bands from the Southern Nazarene University (SNU) School of Music will gather in “Covenant Celebration” at Little Rock Church of the Nazarene, 1200 N. Mississippi, for an evening of worship and celebration on Saturday, February 19 at 7:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend. There is no admission charge; however, a freewill offering will be taken.
Covenant Celebration is a time of reaffirmation of the bonds between church and Southern Nazarene University. The concert features performances by each group within the music department, concluding with a grand finale of “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.” 140 students will be participating.
“The Covenant Celebration is designed to remind both the university and the church, that over a century ago, church members established a school to prepare their children to live and serve in the world. Through song and litany, we celebrate our heritage and our future,” said Dr. David Alexander, Vice President for University Advancement.
Southern Nazarene University is sponsored by the Church of the Nazarene in the South Central region, drawing students from Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. Once each semester, the SNU School of Music travels to different districts on the region to present a Covenant Celebration.
