BETHANY, OK – Southern Nazarene University invites you to join the Marchant family, SNU Administration and a host of other representatives for the Marchant Family Alumni and Welcome Center Dedication and Open House on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. as we give thanks for the tremendous generosity of so many. The dedication will take place on the campus of Southern Nazarene University in front of the Marchant Center located on the northwest corner of NW 39th Expressway and College.
U.S. Congressman (Texas), Kenny Marchant (‘73), has long dreamed about SNU having a prominent place on campus to welcome visitors and her returning alumni. The opening of the Marchant Center is the fulfillment of this dream.
Alumni classes from 1950 – 1998 worked together to raise funds to underwrite a part of the building in honor of their class. A host of other loyal alumni and key supporters also contributed to the Marchant Center development. In addition, the SNU Board of Trustees encouraged the administration to develop a special fund to support the building’s future operation and scheduled maintenance.
The Center will be open for tours following the dedication from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. At that time, visitors will be able to walk through Heritage Hall and read about key events that have shaped SNU throughout the years. In addition, visitors will be able to visit the new Offices of Admissions and Alumni Relations, as well as view a variety of items from the Fred Floyd Archives.
