Dr. Davis Berryman in first semester as new Dean of Graduate and Adult Studies

On July 1, 2002, Dr. Davis Berryman began his first semester as the new Dean of Graduate and Adult Studies at Southern Nazarene University, following the retirement of Dr. Wayne Murrow. Berryman oversees the administration of the SNU graduate and adult programs in both Oklahoma City and Tulsa.

“We have some very fine graduate and adult programs. Essentially, I have three goals: 1) Help maintain this high standard of quality; 2) help make audiences in the greater Oklahoma area aware of these programs; and 3) help expand existing programs and develop new programs that continue to emphasize spiritual and intellectual development of the student,” Berryman said.

Berryman and his wife, Teryl, moved from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where Davis served as Dean of Adult and Continuing Education and Professional Studies. Teryl is now serving as an adjunct faculty member in the Speech Communication department at SNU.

Berryman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington University, a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, a Master of Business Administration from Kent State University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University.
