Dr. Gordon MacDonald to speak at Southern Nazarene University
Southern Nazarene University will host a public lecture featuring guest speaker Dr. Gordon MacDonald, 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, in Cantrell Hall, located just north of 39th and College on the SNU campus. The session is free and open to the public. MacDonald will also appear in a chapel service that morning at 10:50 a.m. in Herrick Auditorium, followed by a special Faculty/Student Forum that afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in Cantrell Hall.
Gordon MacDonald is an author, speaker, and teacher. MacDonald served as a pastor for more than thirty-five years, most recently as the senior minister at Grace Chapel, Lexington, Massachusetts. MacDonald has written more than a dozen books, including Ordering Your Private World, Secrets of a Generous Life, The Life God Blesses, Renewing Your Spiritual Passion, and Mid-Course Correction. MacDonald also writes regularly for Leadership Journal and serves as the Chairman of the Board of World Relief Corporation.
“Gordon MacDonald is widely known for his helpful writings on all aspects of the Christian life and is highly regarded by Christian leaders around the world,” said Dr. Don Dunnington, Vice President for Academic Affairs. “I am very happy that SNU is able to host MacDonald on campus as a guest for the students and faculty as well as the community.”
MacDonald holds a B.A. from the University of Colorado, a M. Div from Denver Seminary, and an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Barrington College (who later merged with Gordon College).
MacDonald and his wife Gail currently reside in Canterbury, New Hampshire.
