Dr. Jerry Lambert to speak at Spring Commencement

Dr. Jerry D. Lambert, education commissioner of the International Board of Education for the Church of the Nazarene, will be the featured speaker at the Southern Nazarene University Spring Commencement ceremony, 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 17, 2003, in the Sawyer Center on NW 39th Expressway and Donald.

Prior to his current position as education commissioner, Lambert served as president of Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Lambert has also served as district superintendent and pastor in the Church of the Nazarene.

Lambert earned his B.A. degree from Southern Nazarene University and the Master of Divinity degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary. Lambert is also the recipient of an honorary degree, the Doctor of Divinity, from Southern Nazarene University. In 1988, Lambert graduated from the Harvard University Institute for the Management of Lifelong Education.

Lambert and his wife, Verla, live in Overland Park, Kansas. They have two daughters, Dana Campbell and husband Jon, and Marcy Bizal and husband Michael; and granddaughters, Eryn, Brenna, Cameron, and McKenna.
