Excel Auction tops $1 million in proceeds
Over 600 friends of Southern Nazarene University gathered at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum on Friday, November 5, for the 14th annual EXCEL Auction, which raised an auction total of $107,000 for EXCEL Camp scholarships, the largest one evening total in the history of the Auction.
In its 14-year history, the EXCEL Auction has now raised over $1,000,000. These proceeds have made it possible for hundreds of underprivileged children from Oklahoma to attend SNU’s EXCEL (Excellence in Christian Education and Leadership) Camps.
In 2004, SNU was able to award 70 full scholarships to children in the Oklahoma City metro area. In addition introducing three new camp offerings, the EXCEL Summer 2004 Camps experienced doubled enrollment from 2003, with more than 300 total participants.
Next year’s Excel Auction is set for Friday, November 4, 2005.
