BETHANY, OK – Southern Nazarene University’s School of Music presents Dr. Steven Betts and Dr. Mark Reighard in a duo-piano recital on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cantrell Music Hall on the campus of SNU.
Both professors enjoy the challenges and rewards of performing duo-piano literature as evidenced in their selections; Mozart - Sonata in D Major,
Brahms - Variations on a Theme
by Haydn and Milhaud Brasiliera.
Betts and Reighard are on the piano faculty at the university. Dr. Betts is in his fifth year of teaching at SNU. He received his PhD in Music Education (Piano Pedagogy) from the University of Oklahoma in 1995. Betts teaches Piano, Piano Pedagogy, and Fine Arts and directs the SNU Handbell Choir. Dr. Reighard is currently in his thirty-seventh year of teaching at SNU. Reighard holds a doctorate in piano performance from the University of Oklahoma and teaches music theory.
Joining the gentlemen for the faculty recital is the talented soprano, Kim Rosfeld, wife of SNU Professor Ken Rosfeld. She will be singing selections of French and German composers as well as selections arranged by her father-in-law, Professor John Rosfeld, SNU emeritus.
The evening will conclude with a rendition of All Hail the Power of Jesus Name
for duo-pianos arranged by Dr. Reighard.
