ADDYs Awarded to SNU Instructor and Student

BETHANY, Okla. (February 24, 2012) – Southern Nazarene University is pleased to announce that SNU Associate Professional Specialist, Whitney Porch-Van Heuvelen, and student, Clark Underwood, both received multiple ADDY awards during last week’s awards ceremony.

Senior Graphic Design major, Clark Underwood, received two Bronze Student ADDY awards in the collateral poster category.  While Whitney Porch-Van Heuvelen received a Gold ADDY for a Special Events Campaign and a Silver ADDY for a Publication/Magazine.

“It is always wonderful when our faculty is recognized for their outstanding achievement in their professional field.  However, I think it is even a greater compliment when one of their students is also recognized for their work because you know the investment,” said Melany Kyzer, Dean, College of Humanities.

The ADDY Awards were given by the Oklahoma City Ad Club and are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition.  Each year the ADDYs attract over 50,000 entries in local ADDY Competitions.  The mission of the ADDY competition is to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising.
