Jan Hopkins to speak at SNU
September 11th Plus One Year: The Markets, the Economy and Living in New York
Jan Hopkins will be the speaker for this year’s first Peer Learning Network seminar at Southern Nazarene University, Thursday, September 26 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Royce Brown Business Building, located off NW 39th Expressway and Peniel. A continental breakfast will be served at 7:45 a.m.
Jan Hopkins is one of the most prominent anchors on CNN, seen worldwide on CNN, CNNfn, and CNN International as host for the daily financial news show, Street Sweep. Known for her live reporting from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, she helped CNN win its first Peabody Award.
Hopkins' presentation, “September 11th Plus One Year: The Markets, the Economy and Living in New York,” will come from her firsthand experience of living in New York and seeing the different effect of September 11th on the city, the markets and the economy. From her personal vantage point she will discuss business trends, the economy, the stock market and consumer confidence.
Hopkins’ workshop is a part of The Peer Learning Network that is comprised of chief executives of 10 local corporations and their management teams. The group meets four times a year to share experiences and innovative ideas with member companies.
