MAA at Fort Smith
March 28-29, 2008
Three faculty members and five students attended the MAA (Mathematical Association of America) convention at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. Curtis McCully, a senior from SNU, won first place on his Undergraduate Paper.
The two day long convention was full of math games and puzzles, student papers, lectures from faculty, and even a lesson in cracking a driver's license code.
Curtis McCully presented his undergraduate paper on the subject on The Gravitational Effects of Luminosity. He received the first place award for his presentation and research. With a packed room of professors and students, Curtis impressed everyone with his jaw dropping presentation and left many behind from his advanced techniques from over a year worth of research.
Cherith Tucker, a graduate of SNU and now in graduate school, graced us with her presence as she decided to join in the activities as a returnee to MAA.
