BETHANY, OK – The equestrian center and arena architectural plans have recently been completed for Southern Nazarene University. The project-building estimate was around $1.3 million dollars. The location will be on Thompkins avenue between N.W. 50th and N.W. 39th Expressway.

Lynn Hickey was the first donor with his donation of $50.000. Hickey is pictured with SNU President Loren Gresham as he presents his gift to help with the development of the indoor arena. Bethany Mayor J.D. Johnson looks on.

The University will seek other donations while further estimates are being sought for the arena. The center will help expand the equestrian program at SNU, which currently has a student waiting list.

SNU has a collegiate horse show team, which competes against 15 other college teams in the region. The arena would include 100-horse stalls that would allow SNU to host collegiate competitions.
