Outdoor Track & Field Set for National Competition

(BETHANY,OK)---The Crimson Storm outdoor track & field squads will begin competition at the NAIA National Championships on Thursday at Cardinal Park in Louisville, Kentucky.

Southern Nazarene’s men’s squad will send seven individuals to the National Championships. The Crimson Storm look to build on their momentum from the indoor National Championships in March in which SNU took home the school’s highest finish ever, placing fifth at Nationals.

All-time, Southern Nazarene has won two NAIA National Titles in the Outdoor season and both have been in the pole vault competition. SNU’s Russell Watson took home the National Title in 1996 and Ben Daniel grabbed the National Crown in 1999.

The Crimson Storm women’s outdoor squad qualified four individuals for National competition. All-time, Southern Nazarene has claimed one NAIA National Championship in the outdoor season. In 1998, Steph Miller won the National Championship in the 800 Meter Dash.
