The fourth and final session of the Peer Learning Network (PLN) seminar for the 2005-2006 year is a Luncheon Presentation featuring Ari Fleischer, former White House Press Secretary and Assistant to the President. This special luncheon presentation entitled “Taking Heat: The President, The Press and My Years in the White House” is at the Cox Convention Center, Downtown Oklahoma City, (Concourse Level, Great Hall C) on Thursday, April 13, 2006 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
As the former White House Press Secretary and Assistant to the President, Ari Fleischer was the primary spokesperson for President George W. Bush with responsibility for delivering the daily White House press briefings. He previously served as the senior communications advisor and spokesman for the Bush-Cheney presidential campaign.
Upon leaving the White House, Fleischer penned the book, “Taking Heat: The President, The Press and My Years in the White House.” Prior to his service in the White House, Mr. Fleischer served the House Committee on Ways & Means as the Republican spokesman. As communications director there he spoke on issues relating to taxes, Medicare, Social Security, welfare and international trade.
Fleischer also served as press secretary to New Mexico Senator Pete Domenici from 1989-1994. A native of Pound Ridge, New York, he is now president of his own firm, Ari Fleischer Communications.
PLN was established and facilitated by Southern Nazarene University (SNU) in 1995, the Peer Learning Network brings together the CEO and leadership teams of Oklahoma-based companies who have committed to be Major Partners in the Peer Learning Network.
