PLN Presents Luncheon Presentation with Nicholas Negroponte, Geo-Digital Founder, MIT Media Lab
The fourth and final session of the Peer Learning Network (PLN) seminar for the 2006 – 2007 year is a Luncheon Presentation featuring Nicholas Negroponte on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 from 11 am - 1 pm at the Cox Convention Center, Downtown Oklahoma City, Concourse Level, Great Hall C.
Nicholas Negroponte is the founding Chairman of MIT’s Media Lab, one of the world’s leading interdisciplinary research centers. Negroponte was the first to predict and describe how digitalization would affect every industry in every part of the world. He is the author of the New York Times bestseller Being Digital.
Negroponte is the driving force behind the $100 Laptop, a conceptual and technological breakthrough that is destined to revolutionize computing and transform education and culture worldwide. His non-profit One Laptop per Child plans to have laptops in the hands of children in developing countries, with over 5 million placed in 2007.
Mr. Negroponte serves as founder and chairman of 2B1, serves on the board of Motorola and has taught at Yale, Michigan, UC Berkeley and MIT. He will address the implications of digital globalization alongside global digitalization. Each individual, business, school, teacher and student will be affected by the innovation and technology addressed by Professor Negroponte.
