‘PLN Presents’ luncheon to feature former White House adviser

David Gergen: Eyewitness to Power

David Gergen will appear at the second annual “PLN Presents,” a downtown Oklahoma City session intended for the greater Oklahoma City business community. The luncheon presentation will take place Friday, April 8, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Cox Convention Center in Great Hall C. A Renaissance-catered meal will be served during the presentation.

Gergen will take a look back and a look ahead at the current administration of President George W. Bush, offering key lessons for leaders of the future as he draws upon his 30 years experience in Washington and the White House.

A noted conservative who served Presidents Nixon, Ford and Reagan, Gergen brought his wisdom and hands-on knowledge to Bill Clinton’s first years in the White House. Today he helps audiences break through ideological barriers to recognize simple and lasting political truths.

Gergen currently serves as editor-at-large of U.S. News & World Report, as director of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and as a regular contributor to PBS’ The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer.

Gergen’s workshop is a part of The Peer Learning Network, a program facilitated by Southern Nazarene University. Each year, Peer Learning Network partners, comprised of chief executives of 12 local corporations and their management teams, pool their resources to bring world-class presenters to the leaders of Oklahoma’s premiere companies.

Tickets are $40 per person and may be reserved online at www.snu.edu/pln or by calling 405.491.6600. For further information about this or future Peer Learning Network workshops, contact the Peer Learning Office at 405.491.6600, e-mail pln@snu.edu, or log on to www.snu.edu/pln.
