Passport requirement dropped!

Border crossing document rule returns to what it was

Traveling back to the U.S. just got less complicated for participants in the 2007-2008 edition of Commission Unto Mexico. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has moved implementation of a rule requiring passports from January 1 to the summer of 2008.

Participants in this year's Mexico mission trip, which will December 27 to January 3, will thus need the same documents as those in past years: photo ID and a birth certificate (or origianl voter's registration card).

The trip, which begins in the parking lot of El Paso, TX First Church of the Nazarene, on December 27, will involve work projects, outreach ministries and health clinics in about 10 neighborhoods of the border town of Juarez.

Cost for the trip is $509 from El Paso. Complete trip details are at: www.snu.edu/mexico
