SNU Celebrates Pastor Appreciation Day

October 17, 2006 saw 200 plus South Central Region pastors, associate pastors and their mates make their way to the campus of Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma, for its Fifth Annual Pastor Appreciation Day.

Following a reception and time of fellowship, the guests worshipped with students and faculty in chapel with fall revival speaker Dr. Darius Salter, and then gathered for a luncheon with a “southwest flair” that opened with music from Leaving 99, the SNU public relations group, and greetings and words of appreciation from Dr. Loren Gresham, president.

After a number of special gifts of recognition and door prizes were awarded, the day’s special guests were treated to a great time of music, laughter and inspiration from The Toler Brothers, Dr. Stan Toler, Dr. Terry Toler and Rev. Mark Hollingsworth. A gift of appreciation was presented to every person in attendance before Dr. Gresham concluded the day’s festivities with a prayer of blessing.

Dr. Terry Toler, Vice President for Church Relations at SNU stated, “This day is one we look forward to with great anticipation each year, because it is a day of pure joy, as we honor those in the front lines of ministry – those pastors and their mates who give so much of themselves to others every day.” “Southern Nazarene University is honored to be their partners in building responsible young people for lives of Christian service,” stated Dr. Toler.
