SNU Hosts Meisenbach & Golden on Flute & Harp
The flute and harp duo Meisenbach & Golden will perform at Southern Nazarene University, 7:30 pm, Thursday, April 11 in Cantrell Music Hall. Master classes will be held from 4:00 to 5:30 pm, Wednesday, April 10 with the harp class in Cantrell Music Hall and the flute class in the Fine Arts Building.
Touring artists Megan Meisenbach, flutist, and Mary Golden, harpist are known for concerts that are full of musical warmth, joy, intensity, and masterful technique. As a duo, they are recognized from Idaho to Mexico for performances that are sparkling, thrilling and contemplative, a combination of qualities that has won them a loyal following.
First prize winners of the National Flute Association Chamber Music competition, Meisenbach and Golden have been repeatedly honored with yearly touring grants from the Heartland Arts Fund and the Texas Commission on the Arts. Meisenbach has also been chosen by the National Endowment for the Arts Solo Recitalist Award. Their CD “Debussy-Ravel-Bax” and their live performances can be heard on National Public Radio.
This concert is made possible in part through the generous support of the Kirkpatrick Foundation.
The Master classes are open to the public with no admission charge. Tickets for the concert are $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $3 for students and can be purchased at the door.
