SNU Hosts Recital for Internationally Renowned Pianist
Southern Nazarene University welcomes guest pianist Xu Hong in recital Sunday, October 7th at 3:00 in the afternoon. The event will be held in Cantrell Music Hall on the SNU campus. Admission is free.
Xu Hong, a native of China, is an internationally renowned pianist. He entered the Wu Han Conservatory of Music in 1995 where he studied with Jiang Li Ping and Xu Zhong. Xu Hong has won several prizes at in the National Piano competition and at the First National Tow Piano Competition in 1997. He has received first prizes in the Second Chinese Works Piano Competition in Hong Kong, and at the Croydon and North London Music Festival in London. Xu Hong has traveled internationally and has played throughout China, Hong Kong, Japan, and England. In June of this year, he was a prize winner in the Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Piano Competition and was also a winner in the 2001 Eastman International Young Artist Piano Competition.
