SNU Jazz Band Takes on Late-Night
The Southern Nazarene University Jazz band will perform their fall concert Friday, October 26th at 7:30pm. The concert will be held in Herrick Auditorium, on the SNU campus.
The music will have a Big Band feel with the jazz band playing songs like “Jump, Jive, and Wail,” “Can’t Help Loving That Man,” and “Go Daddio.” The whole night will have a “late-night” talk-show theme. There will be many surprises and gimmicks that will be familiar to people who have ever seen the late-night shows of David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, or Jay Leno. Matt Key, a prominent student who has emceed many other events on campus, is the anticipated host.
“Matt was a natural choice for the host. All of the guys in the band knew of him and wanted to see him do it…He’s very helpful to me because he’s able to come up with a lot of great ideas on his own,” said Tim Wall, jazz band director.
SNU’s jazz band is a group of twenty very committed musicians who are preparing for a night of fun and surprises.
Tickets at the door for $4 for adults and $2 for students. For further information on this event, contact Laura Lighthill in the SNU School of Music at 491-6345 or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
