SNU Percussion Ensemble & Brass Choir Concert Approaching
The Southern Nazarene University Percussion Ensemble and Brass Choir will perform 7:30 pm, Monday, April 8 in Cantrell Music Hall.
The Percussion Ensemble, directed by Professor K. Dean Walker, will perform “Short Circuits” by Lalo Davila, featuring black light effects, a rag-time work entitled “Back Talk” by Harry Breuer, ‘Movement One’ from Ney Rosuaro’s “Vibraphone Concerto, featuring soloist Jeff Bellgrardt, and “Windfall” by Thomas Brown.
The repertoire of the Brass Choir, directed by Dr. Phil Moore, will include two pieces for brass and organ by Vaclav Nelhybel, Rossini’s “William Tell Overture,” “Duke of Marlborough Fanfare” by Percy Grainger, “Fanfare for Brass and Percussion by Burrill Phillips, and “Canzon Primi Toni” by Giovanni Gabrieli.
