SNU School of Music Presents “Mozart’s Requiem”

The SNU School of Music will present of one of the greatest works of all time, “Mozart’s Requiem,” 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 8, at Oklahoma City First Church of the Nazarene, 4400 NW Expressway in Oklahoma City.

The concert will feature four outstanding soloists, a full orchestra, and a 110 member choir. Soloists will include Shane Rickey, Bass, sophomore; Jeremy Stover, Tenor, junior; Cassie Blackstock, Alto, junior; and Alyssa Marshall, Soprano, freshman.

Mozart was trying to complete this masterwork in the final days of his life. Upon his death, it was turned over to one of his students to complete. It represents the finest of Mozart’s works.

“The combined choirs of SNU dedicate this work to the many tragic deaths of 9/11 and the continuing conflict. The piece gives hope and tells of the eternal life that is offered by God,” said Miller.

The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the SNU School of Music at 405.491.6345 or e-mail rspear@snu.edu.
