SNU School of Music gathers at Richardson Nazarene for ‘Covenant Celebration’
RICHARDSON, TX – The entire Southern Nazarene University (SNU) School of Music will gather in “Covenant Celebration” at Richardson Church of the Nazarene, 2101 East Renner Road, for an evening of worship and celebration on Sunday, March 2 at 6:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend. There is no admission charge; however, a freewill offering will be taken.
Covenant Celebration is a time of reaffirmation of the bonds between church and university. The concert features performances by each group within the music department, concluding with a grand finale of “Lord, Listen to Your Children Praying.” 120 students will be participating.
“The Covenant Celebration is designed to remind both the university and the church, that over a century ago, church members established a school to prepare their children to live and serve in the world. Through song and litany, we celebrate our heritage and our future,” said Dr. David Alexander, Vice President for University Advancement.
Southern Nazarene University is sponsored by the Church of the Nazarene in the South Central region, drawing students from Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. Once each semester, the School of Music travels to different districts on the region to present a Covenant Celebration.
This is the first opportunity Richardson Church of the Nazarene has had to host such an event. For more information, contact the SNU School of Music at 405.491.6345 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
