SNU Spring Commencement 2003
Southern Nazarene University’s Spring Commencement ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2003, 2:00 p.m. in the Sawyer Center.
Commencement weekend features a variety of scheduled activities for graduates and their families. Commencement festivities begin with the Senior Celebration, a celebratory dinner for SNU traditional graduates and their immediate families, on Friday, May 16, 7:00 p.m. in the Sawyer Center. On Saturday, May 17, Phi Delta Lambda will host a breakfast at 8:00 a.m. in the Heritage Room in the SNU Webster Commons. The Pinning Ceremony for SNU Nursing graduates will take place on Saturday, May 17, 10:00 a.m. in the Atrium of Bethany First Nazarene Church.
On May 17, commencement exercises will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Sawyer Center, with doors open for guest seating at 1:00 p.m. Dr. Jerry D. Lambert, education commissioner of the International Board of Education for the Church of the Nazarene, will serve as commencement speaker. Dale Webster will be presented an honorary Doctor of Laws Degree during the ceremony, and Linda Gresham will be given a Citation of Merit for her work in Student Development.
Following commencement exercises, the historic Ivy Ring Ceremony for graduates will take place at the Centennial Plaza in front of the Webster Commons. Families are encouraged to follow the graduates in their recessional out to the Centennial Plaza and stand behind their graduates as a part of the Ivy Ring Ceremony.
That evening, the SNU Alumni Office will host a banquet for all alumni and friends at 6:00 p.m. in the Webster Commons.
Commencement is open to the public, and there is no admission charge. Guests are asked to enter through the west doors of the Sawyer Center.
