SNU Symphonic Band in Concert
The Southern Nazarene University Symphonic Band will perform their fall concert Thursday, November 21 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held in Herrick Auditorium, located on the corner of NW 39th and Asbury.
Selections will include “Armenian Dances” by Alfred Reed, “Athletic Festival March” by Serge Prokofieff, “Chorale and Alleluia” by Howard Hanson, “Ye Banks and Braes O Bonny Doon” directed by student Ryan Gage, “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” by Steve Rouse, and the Mozart Serenade No. 12 in C Minor.
“Directing the Symphonic Band has been a wonderful privilege. It has provided a great learning curve that will help me as I student teach in the spring and then eventually as I go on to teach and have my own band program,” said student Ryan Gage.
The Symphonic Band, directed by Dr. Phil Moore, is a 46 member auditioned group which performs throughout the school year locally and overseas.
Admission is free. For more information, contact the SNU School of Music at 405.491.6345 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
