Four business students from Southern Nazarene University were recently awarded $500 scholarships from the Deltu Mu Delta Honor Society, representing more than 10 percent of those 39 awarded nationwide this year.
SNU recipients are Summer Albauer, Senior Marketing major; Shawna Benjamin, Junior Marketing major; Kendra Pridey, Senior Accounting major; and Amber Weidner, Senior Accounting major.
Among those 20 academic institutions represented by the 2003 Delta Mu Delta scholarship were Northwest Missouri State University, Oklahoma Christian University, Hawaii Pacific University, Saint Vincent College (PA), Wingate University (NC), Anderson University (IN), and Texas Lutheran University.
Founded in 1913, Delta Mu Delta is the National Honor Society in Business Administration for business programs accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) at the baccalaureate/graduate level. Delta Mu Delta exists to promote higher scholarship in training for business and to recognize and reward superior scholastic achievement of students in business.
Each year, the Society honors academic excellence in the study of business to students across the country. To compete in the Society’s annual Scholarship Awards Program, undergraduate students must be enrolled in business courses at a school with a Delta Mu Delta chapter, have completed at least half the work required for a baccalaureate degree, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, be in good standing, and rank in the top 20 percent of their class.
