SNU recognized as “Top-Tier” University
U.S. News and World Report has selected Southern Nazarene University as a Top-Tier University-Master’s in its report, “America’s Best Colleges.”

BETHANY, OK - U.S. news and World Report has selected Southern Nazarene University as a Top-Tier University-Master’s in its report, “America’s Best Colleges.” This category ranks 572 universities within the four geographic areas of North, South, Midwest, and West. SNU is ranked within the West area as an institution that provides a full range of undergraduate and master’s programs. SNU was selected based on criteria from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, including small class sizes, freshman retention, student-faculty ratio and SAT/ACT scores.

Southern Nazarene president Loren Gresham states “I am pleased with this recognition by US News as a Top-Tier University. It symbolizes what we have known all along, that SNU is among the best as an academic institution, within the context of building character, shaping culture, and serving Christ.”

Larry Hess, Director of Admissions states, “It is an honor to be recognized for excellence. For over 100 years, SNU has been providing a rigorous academic learning environment that has prepared students for success after their graduation.”

The U.S. News and World report annually compiles data from thousands of U.S. colleges and universities, and publishes findings from more than 1,400 schools. The full list of rankings is available on the magazine’s web site at www.usnews.com. An abridged version will then be published in the magazine’s August 29th edition. All rankings will appear in the annual “America’s Best Colleges” guidebook. “America’s Best Colleges” is the oldest and most renowned system for ranking the nation’s institutions of higher learning.
