SNU to host PALCON 2004
Southern Nazarene University is scheduled to serve as a host campus for PALCON (Pastors and Leaders’ Conference) 2004, June 14-18.
With an expected attendance of more than 350, SNU/PALCON 2004 will feature seminar sessions by such notable speakers as H.B. London, Vice President of Ministry Outreach/Pastoral Ministries, Focus on the Family; George Hunter III, Distinguished Professor of Evangelism and Church Growth, Asbury Theological Seminary; Kenon Callahan, pastor, professor, and author of Twelve Keys to an Effective Church; and Jim Bond, General Superintendent, Church of the Nazarene. Praise and worship will be led by Harlan Moore, Minister of Music at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene.
“It is a rare privilege for us to host this event,” said Terry Toler, Vice President for Church Relations. “In fact, it has been nine years since this event was held on our campus.”
During the summer of 2004, thousands of clergy from across the USA and Canada will attend PALCON on nine Nazarene college and university campuses across the United States and Canada. The gathering is designed as a special time of spiritual renewal and retreat for clergy serving on the front lines of ministry, including all deacons and elders, district-licensed ministers, senior pastors, chaplains, evangelists, staff ministers and missionaries on furlough. And for the first time, retired elders are invited to attend as well as students preparing to answer God’s call upon their lives.
“Our SNU/PALCON team is busy making ready the campus, seeking to create a climate where those who minister will be refreshed in spirit and renewed in their ministries,” said Toler.
