Songs of Romance Concert
'Everyone Needs Somebody to Love'
The SNU School of Music presents the University Singers in their annual Songs of Romance concert entitled “Everyone Needs Somebody to Love,” Thursday and Friday, February 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Cantrell Hall, located just north of 39th and College on the campus of Southern Nazarene University.
Under the direction of Professor Philip Miller, the concert will showcase the dynamic sound of the University Singers, SNU’s elite vocal ensemble, with accompaniment provided by the University Singers’ Jazz Combo. The program will include jazz standards, new compositions, acapella numbers, and the best of the University Singers’ sacred repertoire.
“The concert is built around songs speaking of love for others, featuring jazz standard favorites such as ‘Autumn Leaves’ and ‘After You’ve Gone’ as well as Broadway and pop pieces like ‘On the Street Where You Live’ and ‘Everybody Needs Somebody to Love,’” said Miller.
Tickets are $3 for adults, and can be purchased at the door. Students with ID are free. For more information, contact the SNU School of Music at 405.491.6345, or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
