Symphonic Band Fall Concert
The SNU School of Music presents the Symphonic Band in fall concert Thursday, November 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Herrick Auditorium, located on the corner of NW 39th and Asbury.
The group will perform a diverse mix of selections including “After a Gentle Rain” by Anthony Iannaccone, “Combination March” by Scott Joplin, G.F. Handel’s “Water Music Suite,” “Symphonic Dance No. 3” by Clifton Williams, a celtic piece by Tomohiro Tatebe, and “Hymn Variants,” by Alfred Reed.
“The music ranges from the sublime to the jocular, from ethereal to furious, from Celtic dance music to a Spanish fiesta, an eclectic array of repertoire to enervate the listener,” said Dr. Phil Moore, SNU School of Music Chair.
Under the direction of Dr. Phil Moore, the Symphonic Band is a 54-member auditioned group which performs throughout the school year locally and overseas.
The concert is free and open to the public. For further event information, contact the SNU School of Music at 405.491.6345 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
