Symphonic Band Spring Concert Celebration

The Southern Nazarene University School of Music presents the Symphonic Band in spring concert, 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 1 in Herrick Auditorium. Admission is free.

Under the direction of Dr. Phil Moore, the Symphonic Band will perform a program entitled, “Life and Other Dances – A Celebration of Joy.” Concert selections will include Bernstein’s “Slava,” “Life Dances” by Himes, “Puszta” by Van der Roost, “A Short Ballet for Awkward Dancers” by Hazelman, “Jamaican Rumba” by Benjamin, concluding with Sousa’s “Semper Fidelis.”

“During this season of world strife, the SNU Symphonic Band wishes to offer an evening of celebrating the precious gift of life. It will be entertaining, edifying, and uplifting,” said SNU School of Music Chair Dr. Phil Moore.
