BETHANY, OK – The Office of Church Relations at Southern Nazarene University will host the third annual Sermon Planning Workshop for pastors on Monday, January 9, 2006 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
in the Royce Brown Business Building on the campus of Southern Nazarene University off Northwest 39th Expressway and Peniel. Pre-event luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Webster Commons building.
This year’s presenter is Rev. David Busic, Senior Pastor of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, Bethany, Oklahoma. “Pastor Busic is not only a gifted and anointed preacher of the gospel, he is also a willing resource person who loves to share what he has learned and is learning about preparing and proclaiming the good news in effective ways.” said Dr. Terry Toler, Vice President for Church Relations at Southern Nazarene University.
Busic is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University and Nazarene Theological Seminary. He has served as Senior Pastor at Central Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City and the Vineyard Community Church of the Nazarene in Livermore, CA. Since 2000, Pastor David has been co-editor of Preacher’s Magazine. He is also one of the co-authors of the book, Pastor’s Guide to Effective Preaching.
“Like previous installments of this event, the focus will be primarily on practices. Veteran preachers – those who are just starting out in ministry – and everyone in-between will find all the presentations to be thoroughly practical, useful and highly inspirational” said Toler.
Cost for the workshop is $29.00 per person, which includes a pre-event lunch, all presentations and handouts. There are a limited number of scholarships available for this event. To inquire about the scholarships, please call the Office of Church Relations.
